Silicones vs Acrylics

What are the differences between silicones and acrylics?
Silicones
· Excellent flexibility—silicone stretches, putting less stress on the bonds.
· Superior durability—won’t crack, peel or harden.
· Unmatched adhesion to even the toughest bond surfaces
· Extreme weather and temperature resistance (-65°F to 400°F).
· Less than 2% shrinkage – prevents added stress on the bonds after curing.
· Best seal against water.

Acrylics
· Paintable—latex and acrylic caulks can be directly painted over.
· Water clean up—easy cleaning of hands, tools and work area.
· Fast drying—may be painted after approximately 2 hours drying time.
